As the seasons begin to change and we prepare to trade in our summer wardrobe for cozy fall looks, it's also time to start thinking about our hair. And according to celebrity hairstylist Monae Everett, this fall is all about celebrating our natural textures and creating styles that draw attention to it.

But regardless of your hair type, one thing to know is that volume is in. So whether you're wearing your hair straight, curly, in a ponytail, or braids, you're going to want to add some extra oomph to your locks. Thankfully, there are a number of ways you can luster up fuller-looking hair, including back-combing, using a wand to create loose curls, and adding in extensions.

Once you've got that down, it's time to start styling. To help you get started, Everett shares some looks she predicts will be trending this fall.

Cornrows and Texture

Hairstyles that combine cornrows and texture are a big trend this fall. If you want beautiful, fluffy, textured hair like Judas and the Black Messiah star, Dominique Fishback, Everett recommends starting off by shampooing and conditioning your hair with Dark and Lovely Blowout Hydrating Sulfate Free Shampoo and Dark and Lovely Blowout Moisture Hair Mask & Deep Treatment Conditioner.

Next, apply Biolage Thermal Active Setting Spray before blow drying your hair and setting it with flexi rods. "Once your hair has completely dried, remove the flexi rods, add a serum like Essations Naked Silkening Glaze, and brush your hair with a paddle brush," says the stylist. Finish off by adding several cornrow braids at the front of your hair and tie the remaining hair in a ponytail.

 Little and Large Cornrows

Braids are here to stay!

"Tiny detailed braids outlining large cornrows can make a simple style look more complex and detailed," says Everett. "To achieve this look, I wet Paige Hurd's hair and applied  Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Featherlight Styling Cream." Next, the stylist sectioned the hair and created three large cornrows. "In between each large cornrow, I left some hair out and used Ouidad Coil Infusion Good Shape Defining Gel to create tiny detailed braids around the larger cornrows."

Clip-in Texture

For this style, the stylist started off by creating a french fishtail braid. "I used hair extensions to create a bubble ponytail across the fishtail braid," says Everett. "For the back section, I added Raw Luxury by Lorin clip-in hair extensions to the models hair and used the Ouidad Coil Infusion Give A Boost Styling and Shaping Gel Cream to shape the natural hair and extensions." Following this, the stylist used Essations Naked Silkening Glaze to break up the curls and create volume. "Next, I added small cornrows at the front and on the sides of the head and placed wooden beads at the ends of the cornrows. It's all about the details this fall," says Everett.

 Volume and Curls

Bouncy, voluptuous curls are another trend you'll want to try out this fall and don't worry if you don't have natural curls, this look can easily be achieved with human-hair curly weave.  To set the curls for this look,  Everett applied Argan Oil Smoothing Mousse  to freshly shampooed hair. "A strong set is important to avoid frizz and help the style last longer," says the stylist. "After diffusing the hair dry, I applied argan oil spray and used my hands to scrunch the curls and break up the hard cast over the curls (from the mousse). I finished by  styling the hair using a hair pick to create volume."
